Compact design with 11 modeled amplifier voicings
In the 1960s, guitarists were happy if they had access to reverb and tremolo. The fuzztone was still not readily available back then. Imagine if those guitar players had access to an amp like the VOX DA15? They'd have thought they'd died and gone to guitar heaven. Despite the amp's small size, there's a full complement of pro quality sounds onboard that can cover any style of music from pop to country to blues and even speed metal. VOX engineers carefully selected the classic and modern tones that would give today's players the versatility they need to go from clean chordings to crunchy power chords to full-out solo excursions. Not only did they succeed, but they also kept the DA15 to a mere 22 pounds.
11 onboard effects plus noise reduction
Today's players want effects, and lots of them. While VOX only included 11 different effects, they carefully chose the ones that would deliver maximum impact, allowing players the freedom to experiment with a surprising variety of effects and combinations that will add a special polish to any finished track. Once you start to mix and match the 11 distinctive sound styles with the onboard effects, you'll quickly realize that there's a lot of sonic territory covered here. There's also onboard noise reduction available so the amp is remarkably noise-free when you're not playing or during those quiet passages.
24-bit A/D and D/A conversion
The standard for any pro quality audio gear is 24 bits these days. So it's no surprise that the 15-watt VOX DA15 uses super clean 24-bit A/D and D/A converters, which means that the signal going in is the signal coming out - unless you decide to bend, fold, spindle and mutilate it in all sorts of cool ways. The 24-bit audio also assures you that when you run the DA15 into your mixer or recording setup you'll get squeaky clean signal-to-noise ratios. That's a good thing, trust us.
8" VOX original speaker built in
For practice sessions or even in the studio, the VOX DA15's onboard 8" speaker produces a deceptively big sound thanks to the VOX original speaker, which is voiced specifically for the compact enclosure. For late night practicing, plug in a set of headphones and the speaker is automatically muted (your family and neighbors will appreciate it).
Full complement of ins and outs
The VOX DA15 is nothing if not well thought-out. You can run it using the onboard speaker. Just plug your guitar into the input jack and start playing. Plug in headphones for private practice sessions. For those times when you want to get a really sweet guitar sound in the studio, simply connect up the speaker-emulated line output. There's even a footswitch input jack in case you want to add the optional VFS2 Dual Foot switch.
