Are you in a band? Know a friend who is in a singer/songwriter? We are looking for Calgary's hottest new Alternative artist and we are looking to make Alternative history in Calgary.

FUEL 90.3 "Calgary's Classic Alternative" with big Rock Brewery present the big Rock Star 2008 at Snatch Rock & Roll Lounge. Is your band looking for the chance to make that next huge step forward? Here is your chance, FUEL 90.3 has more than $300,000 that could be yours to help you take your music to the next level.

Here is how it works. FUEL 90.3 will be hosting 5 nights of live music from Calgary's best up and coming artists at Snatch Rock & Roll Lounge.  Each night five artists will be going head to head. All bands receive $1,000 just for performing that night. The winning band each night will win $25,000 to further their musical dreams and goals. Each of our five winning acts will then compete on Wednesday, September 24th at Snatch Rock & Roll Lounge to win the grand prize $200,000 in support towards furthering the careers.

At one time Nirvana was a "garage band" imagine if someone had given them $200,000 "back in the day!"

First we are looking for original acts, you can be a singer/songwriter or a band. This is NOT Canadian Idol, you have to be a serious musician looking to make your mark You will need to be able to provide us with a demo of five of your original songs, proof that you have performed at live gigs in the Calgary area in the past 2 years.
